Mark Goodwin VP Sales
- No one has ever died from making a cold call. In the entire CSI franchise not one episode has been devoted to the mysterious death of a salesperson on the phone.
- The other person on the phone has no idea that you are not the most qualified expert in any given field. You could speak in a British accent and they would have to assume you are British. I am not actually proposing that you lie. The idea is that you choose who you want to be on the call. Go ahead and choose to be the most qualified expert in your field who ever lived!
- Allow yourself the opportunity to fail. No one picks up the phone 20 times in a row and gets 20 appointments. It is a numbers game. Challenge yourself to see how many appointments you can get in one call session.
- Keep in mind that the end result of the call is an appointment. You are not trying to sell anything over the phone – just an appointment.
- Visualize whatever you want as a result of the money you are going to make. Cut out a picture of it and keep it with you.
